Botox Treatment for Depression and Other Conditions

Botox, known for its cosmetic uses, has also shown promise as an innovative treatment for depression. Research suggests that relaxing specific facial muscles—particularly those involved in frowning—can reduce the feedback signals that reinforce negative emotions. This mind-body connection, sometimes called the “facial feedback hypothesis,” may help lift mood and decrease depressive symptoms. At Serenity Psychiatry and Wellness, Botox for depression is offered as a safe, medically supervised option for individuals who have not found full relief from traditional treatments. It is one more way we combine science and compassion to support emotional well-being.

Medical Cannabis Certificate

(NY Residents Only)

Paul Odintsov, PMHNP, offers medical cannabis certifications for qualifying NY residents.

Research has shown that cannabinoids—the active compounds in cannabis—interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate mood, anxiety, sleep, and stress responses. Clinical interest has grown in exploring how these effects might support relief from conditions such as anxiety disorders, PTSD, depression, and insomnia.

While medical cannabis is not a stand-alone or first-line treatment, it may be considered when traditional options have not provided full benefit, or as part of a personalized, integrative plan under professional supervision. Patients often report improvements in restfulness, emotional balance, and stress tolerance when cannabis is used responsibly and with ongoing medical guidance.

Consultation with a qualified psychiatric provider familiar with both mental health care and medical cannabis ensures that treatment is safe, evidence-based, and tailored to your unique needs.
